Seeking volunteers to form an organising committee to plan a Clinical Exercise Physiology event in 2023
1st February 2023
Clinical Exercise Physiology UK has been established to promote registered UK Clinical Exercise Physiologists to work with multiple chronic disease populations.
It has been a busy period with the register going live, an accredited MSc Framework and CPD opportunities developed with online webinars delivered to support these activities.
Now, over two years into our journey, it is time to bring everyone together, face to face, to reflect on successes, share good practice and discuss priorities for the future.
Professors David Broom FBASES and Greg Whyte FBASES are leading a CEP-UK event organising committee.
We are seeking volunteers to support the organisation of the event, which will include finalising the programme and inviting speakers. The majority of work will be done remotely with monthly meetings to be held via Microsoft Teams.
To volunteer, please send your maximum 500-word expression of interest which includes:
1. Name, current role and experience.
2. Why you want to be part of the organising committee and what makes you suitable, linking to the new BASES Values, Commitments and Behaviours.
3. Ideas for speakers you would invite and sessions you would like to see on the programme.
Please note, we would like a good mix of practitioners and academics, as well as early and late stage of career. We are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion as part of our recruitment policies. We therefore encourage applications from individuals who meet the required criteria, but we particularly encourage applications from women, individuals from ethnically diverse communities, those who have a disability, or members of LGBTQ+ community. Please notify the Executive Director (iwilson@bases.org.uk) if you require reasonable adjustments during the application process.
The deadline for submission to Professor David Broom FBASES is Friday 24 February 2023.
Successful applicants will be notified by Friday 3 March 2023, with the first planning meeting scheduled for w/c 6 March 2023.
