Membership Categories and Fees
The table below shows CASES membership categories, fees and the eligibility criteria for each category. Please note the categories below have been updated to reflect the membership categories permitted within the Royal Charter awarded to CASES in May 2024 and in effect from 1 April 2025.

Members who are on the CASES Register (CASES Accreditation or High Performance Sport Accreditation), deemed by the Association to have demonstrated the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to practice safely, effectively and independently as a sport and exercise scientist. Professional Members shall normally hold a postgraduate degree in a related discipline. Professional Members may use the post-nominal MCASES and may use the full descriptor of Member of the Chartered Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences |
Technical Member (regulated) | Professional: £104 Direct Debit £109 Non-Direct Debit £10 Monthly Direct Debit Graduate: £51 Direct Debit | Members who are on the CASES Register (Exercise Science Certified Practitioner), deemed by the Association to have demonstrated the necessary practical vocational knowledge and skills to work effectively in a clinical exercise environment, underpinned by an academic qualification to degree level. Technical Members may use the post-nominal TechCASES and may use the full descriptor of Technical Member of the Chartered Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences. |

Members who are currently studying towards a doctoral degree or those who have completed in the last three years a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a discipline related to sport and exercise science. No post-nominals can be used in this category. |

Members whose permanent residence is outside the United Kingdom but who otherwise meet the criteria for the sub-category Ordinary Member within the Non-regulated Member category. No post-nominals can be used in this category. Accredited members living outside the UK must be Regulated Professional members. |

Additional Information
Student membership lasts for up to four years and is intended for individuals actively studying towards a degree in sport and/or exercise science (bachelor's or master's). After four years as a student member, CASES requires evidence of continuing study to process student membership renewal.
CASES also offers a three year student membership designed for undergraduate students. The cost for three year student membership is £71, working out at just £23 per year.
Graduate membership is for recent graduates of a bachelor's or master's degree in sport and/or exercise science; and for individuals on a sport and exercise science related PhD programme. Graduate membership lasts for three years unless studying towards a PhD. Members who are enrolled on a PhD programme are eligible to remain as graduate members until the completion of their PhD.
Affiliate organisations receive three printed copies (upon request) of the CASES Careers Guide each year.

Please note:
- You can become a member at any time through the year. Membership is annual and the renewal date is 12 months from the date of joining
- Annual direct debits: payments from your bank will be taken within 7 working days of your join date/renewal date.
- Monthly direct debits: the first payment from your bank will be taken within 7 working days of your join date; subsequent payments will then occur on, or around, the same date every month.
- Memberships are non-refundable
- Please note that your membership fee is tax deductible.
